Before submitting titles for The Irish Book Awards, it's important that you take some time to read the eligibility guidelines. A title can be submitted in more than one category in instances where in addition to its natural category, that title is also eligible for the Best Newcomer or Best Irish-published awards. The awards executive's judgement on eligibility issues will be final.

In the light of the overall changes in the awards timeline - awards ceremony has moved to November 2010 - submissions eligibility for the Irish Book Awards 2010 will include:

• Titles published between 1st October 2009 and 31st October 2010.
• Titles originally published in 2009 but subsequently published in paperback between 1st January 2010 and 31st October 2010 (this is a one-off dispensation to cover the long proportional period between the 2009 and 2010 awards.)
