Sixty Books. One Public Vote. The best of Irish writing.
For two decades, the Irish Book Awards have celebrated the stories that moved us, challenged us, comforted us and stayed with us long after the final page.
Now, to mark our 20th anniversary, we’re inviting readers across Ireland to help us choose the best Irish books of the last 20 years.
Over the next three weeks, your votes will narrow the list from 60 books down to the final 20, creating a reader-chosen collection celebrating the very best of Irish writing since 2005.
Whether it’s the book that made you fall in love with reading, the one you pressed into a friend’s hands, or the story you still think about years later, this is your chance to champion it.
Irish writing has shaped our cultural conversation for generations. Over the past 20 years, our authors have won international prizes, sparked national debates, and told stories that reflect who we are and who we’re becoming.
This campaign is more than a celebration. It’s a literary time capsule. And you get to help choose what goes inside.
The top 20 titles will be announced 20th April.
