Badger Books by Paddy Donnelly

Badger Books

By Paddy Donnelly

‘On a busy little street, in a busy little town, there was a shop called ‘Badger Books’’

Badger Books is a bookshop, run by a badger. You can find books about every animal. From bears to elephants, tigers to dinosaurs and pandas to narwhals. But there’s one book they don’t have … and it’s one that Rory the Fox really, really wants!

About Paddy Donnelly...

Paddy Donnelly is an Irish author and illustrator living in Belgium, who has illustrated many children’s books, including Fox & Son Tailers, The Golden Hare (winner of the An Post Irish Book Awards’ Junior Children’s Book 2024 and Indie Book Award winner 2025), The Vanishing Lake and Dodos Are Not Extinct. He has been nominated twice for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration and in 2023 he won the Judges’ Special Award at the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards. His books have been published worldwide, in many languages. Paddy introduced us to Rory, the imaginative little fox, in Fox & Son Tailers, which was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards, won the Literacy Association of Ireland Biennial Children’s Book Award and was featured as a World Book Day book. He hopes that this latest Ballybrush story will encourage parents and children to sit down and make a book together – just like Badger and Rory.
