Terms & Conditions

Bookshop & library point of sale display competition

By entering this competition, all participants agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility

The competition is open to all bookshops and libraries based in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK that have been sent point of sale materials for the An Post Irish Book Awards 2024 campaign or have worked with the An Post Irish Book Awards team on bespoke point of sale. Entrants must work at the bookshop or library.

Items of point of sale that have been printed and sent to participating bookshops/libraries include: stickers, bookmarks, posters, strut cards, shelf strips and recommend cards.

2. Entry Requirements

To enter the competition, participating bookshops/libraries must submit a photograph of their display featuring at least one item of APIBA24 point of sale (POS).

The photograph must be taken between the dates of 25th October – 22nd December 2024.

Each bookshop/library may have multiple entries – each entry must be submitted separately and each image must be different.

 3. How to Enter

The entry must be submitted via the online form by 22nd December 2024.

Entries must include:
A photograph of the bookshop/library display with POS items.

The name of the bookshop/library.

Late entries or entries that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.

4. Prize

There will be 2 winners of the prize draw, 1 bookshop and 1 library. Both winners of the prize draw will receive a cash prize of €500 each. If the winner is based in Northern Ireland or the UK the prize fund will be the equivalent value in £. The prize is non-transferable. The cash prize will be paid via a bank transfer and the team will be in touch to organise.

5. Selection of Winner

A random prize draw will be conducted from all eligible entries received by the closing date.

The winner will be notified via email by 31/01/2025.

If the winner does not respond within 14 days, an alternative winner will be drawn at random.

6. Use of Entries

By entering the competition, participants agree that the An Post Irish Book Awards may use the submitted photographs for promotional purposes, including on social media and websites.

Bookshops/libraries must ensure that all content submitted is their own original work, and does not infringe on the rights of any third parties.

7. Data Protection

Any personal information provided as part of the entry process will only be used for the purpose of administering the competition and in accordance with the organiser’s privacy policy.

8. General Conditions

The organiser reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the competition if necessary, due to circumstances beyond its control.

The organiser’s decision regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding.
