The 2024 Submissions are now closed.

Submitted titles will be considered by the book-industry panel and the critics and reviewers panel and the composition of the shortlists will be announced 23rd October. Successful publishers will be notified confidentially in advance. Due to the volume of submissions we regret that we cannot undertake to notify unsuccessful publishers.

The Poem and Short Story of the Year categories have been undergoing structural change since the loss of the existing sponsors. However, we will be publishing good news in the coming weeks. Watch this space.

An Post Irish Book Awards Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony – 27th November
There will be a levy of €245 for each shortlisted title. The levy is to cover the costs of the overall project management, publicity and design, printing and distribution of the point of sale. Based on the increased exposure, there will also be a winner levy – the exact amount is still to be confirmed.
The number of submissions for each category will confirm which awards are actually presented.
Consent must be obtained from authors, illustrators and any contributors by publishers before submitting titles.
